Every year, there are approximately 750,000 teen pregnancies and 400,000 teen births in the United States. For every 10 teen girls, at least 3 will become pregnant, before the age 20. By and large, teen parents want to do what is right for their children. Because they are teens, parents, and often low-income, they need strong support networks and a comprehensive array of resources to help them parent effectively while working toward becoming self-sufficient adults. Unfortunately, the specialized service needs of pregnant and parenting teens are often overlooked in family and youth policies and practices. Project Stork Inc. was formed to guide and assist pregnant and parenting teens to succeed at parenting and life. Project Stork Inc. also delivers evidence-based pregnancy prevention and risk reduction classes to schools.
